To be blunt and to the point, God does not bless us with things for our own personal gain. He does not bless us with a lot of money so that we can lavishly spend. He does not give some strength so they are strong enough to only get themselves out of certain situations. He does not give us intelligence so that we can take advantage of the next man. The reason that God blesses us is so that we are in a position to help someone else.
Many people are blessed with millions of dollars, but in a lot of cases, it is the people with barely enough to take care of their personal affairs who actually give. God blesses people with intelligence to strategically join together a group of people, but instead of implementing a plan of how to win souls to Christ, they plot on how to take advantage of the next man.
My point is, we are all given abilities and blessings not so we can advance our selves, it is for advancing the kingdom. If God blesses you with a lot of money, remember that He is blessing you so that you may help someone else. Do not take on the high and mighty role and think that what God blesses you with cannot be taken from you. We all know that that is not the case at all.
God has given me many things. At one point in my life, I had money, enough money to help others and myself. Yet I spent it all on clothes and shoes and partying. It wasn't until God humbled me and took it all away that I was finally able to see that I was doing wrong. I wasn't even looking at the money as a gift from God rather a measure of my hard work.
Romans 15
1 -2 Those of us who are strong and able in the faith need to step in and lend a hand to those who falter, and not just do what is most convenient for us. Strength is for service, not status. Each one of us needs to look after the good of the people around us, asking ourselves, "How can I help?"
