We all know that it is very hard to know who is for you and who is against you. Some people make it clear not to depend of them if things go wrong, but then there are those who walk, talk, behave, smell, and just down right appear that they are going to have your back. Yet, when things start going wrong, they are no where to be found. Either that, or they become undependable and let you down. The Bible speaks on these types of people.
Proverbs 25:19 (AMP): Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth or a foot out of joint.
If you put your trust and hopes in a person that is undependable in a time of trouble, in the end it is going to cause a lot of pain. I recall many times my feelings getting hurt due to me trusting a friend that I knew was suspect. This particular person did not have a relationship with God and could careless about "keeping your word", or "following through" or "being a blessing for others". I loan this person money numerous times and it came to a point when I really needed it back. I didn't even need all of it, just a certain amount. I didn't have a back up plan, I just depended on that person to come through like they said they would. When it came time for payout, they didn't answer their phone, nor did they come around. I didn't hear from this person anymore. That was hard for me to swallow. Yet I learned from that.
Put your confidence in God and make sure the people around you are on the same page you are. Make sure they are just as faithful to God as you are. When things get ugly, your faith will be in God and you will have faithful friends who will have your back. Until next time...
