Letting It All Go

I was listening to the Inspirational radio station yesterday as I made a run to the store. They were talking about senseless addictions and letting them go. One of the main addictions Christians my age battle is weed, sex, and alcohol. There were a lot of people (more than I ever would have imagined) called about their addiction to weed. These people admitted they were doing it just because they like to do it, but they wanted to stop. They all had the same question... "HOW DO YOU STOP"

I have had a few addictions, and just to be real I still have one, but what I can tell you is that remember who you want living inside you. If you want the holy spirit in you, it has to be a livable environment. Your body is a temple. What you put into can either make it a livable or close it down for remodeling. My temple was shut down for remodeling, but since I have made an effort to keep it somewhere the Lord wouldn't mind dwelling.

Think about that the next time you roll up, or the next time you order five shots of Crown. Think about the God in you, and in order for him to stay there, you can't contaminate the area. You have to let it all go for God to be able to dwell in you.

1 Corinthians 6

16 -20There's more to sex than mere skin on skin. Sex is as much spiritual mystery as physical fact. As written in Scripture, "The two become one." Since we want to become spiritually one with the Master, we must not pursue the kind of sex that avoids commitment and intimacy, leaving us more lonely than ever—the kind of sex that can never "become one." There is a sense in which sexual sins are different from all others. In sexual sin we violate the sacredness of our own bodies, these bodies that were made for God-given and God-modeled love, for "becoming one" with another. Or didn't you realize that your body is a sacred place, the place of the Holy Spirit? Don't you see that you can't live however you please, squandering what God paid such a high price for? The physical part of you is not some piece of property belonging to the spiritual part of you. God owns the whole works. So let people see God in and through your body.

Foot Work

Our new community project for the 1st Quarter will be "Foot Work" Our goal is to supply 50 pairs of new shoes for those searching or headed back to work. We want to supply comfortable working shoes and remind other C.O.U.sins to allow God to order their steps in His word. We need brand new or barely worn shoes to make this a success. Would you like to be involved? Click our volunteer button and let us know how you would like to get involved.
