That is a question that I had to ask myself. I said shelt, who are you trying to please? I said that I wanted to please God but my actions were those of trying to please man. Trying to become successful so that I can get the fancy cars, the nice clothes and the big house. I had to stop for a second and look at what I was doing and I realized that I do not need to try and impress man because all that stuff that I spoke about would pass away and it means nothing. God will last forever and HE is the one that will put you in those positions as long as you live for HIM and continue to live for HIM. Seek ye first the kingdom of God! I am still learning to live for God and I realize that everything that I want doesn't matter if it is not for and from God. If the Lord wants me to have those things then I will have them and if HE doesn't want me to obtain those things then I won't have them. I have to learn to live by God's will and I will do everything in my power to live HIS way and with the help of the Holy Spirit I can do and so can you. Who are you trying to please?
Luke 18:9-14:
9 And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. Related Articles :
