I am fully aware that doing the right thing has to be habitual. There are a lot of bad habits I have to rid myself of and it wont happen over night. I believe the hard part is not doing the right thing, the hard part is refraining from doing the wrong thing. I can be honest and say I am not a person who just bask in wrongness, I am completely aware of right and wrong and majority of my life I have choose whats right. That's why I am not married and don't have any children right now. I figure the reason why I may be having trouble with my walk with Jesus is because I haven't let some old habits die.
Ephesians 4
17 -19And so I insist—and God backs me up on this—that there be no going along with the crowd, the empty-headed, mindless crowd. They've refused for so long to deal with God that they've lost touch not only with God but with reality itself. They can't think straight anymore. Feeling no pain, they let themselves go in sexual obsession, addicted to every sort of perversion.
20 -24But that's no life for you. You learned Christ! My assumption is that you have paid careful attention to him, been well instructed in the truth precisely as we have it in Jesus. Since, then, we do not have the excuse of ignorance, everything—and I do mean everything—connected with that old way of life has to go. It's rotten through and through. Get rid of it! And then take on an entirely new way of life—a God-fashioned life, a life renewed from the inside and working itself into your conduct as God accurately reproduces his character in you.
These verses say it all. In order to really walk with Jesus you have to be willing to turn over a completely new leaf. You cant straddle the fence. Even as children playing we know that straddling the fence is not an easy thing to do. You have to really work at it. I found it easier to choose one side and stick to it. I figure that I really need to just let all that is bad about me go and be a better Christian. I am not perfect, but that is where prayer comes in. It is now my prayer that God removes all that is bad within me so that my walk with Him doesn't seem so difficult. I'm sure that being on Jesus team is not hard. Its the conditioning and the training and the diet that I need to get use to. Until next time...
