I take pride in saying that I have changed my life. Life has served me up a few curve balls and it makes me proud to say that I am still here. I do not take credit for my changes and for who I am now, I give all the glory, honor and the praise to God. Once I let Him in my life, and gave Him full control, I become a young woman that my parents can proud of. Many times I hear people saying that they have changed. Changes just don't come in the way you talk, but the way you walk. Change comes not only through your attitude, but your actions as well. Do you still do the same things you use to do, go the same places you use to go, hang around the same people you use to hang around. If so, here is a good time to reexamine your claim as a changed individual.
Romans 7: 14-16
14 -16I can anticipate the response that is coming: "I know that all God's commands are spiritual, but I'm not. Isn't this also your experience?" Yes. I'm full of myself—after all, I've spent a long time in sin's prison. What I don't understand about myself is that I decide one way, but then I act another, doing things I absolutely despise. So if I can't be trusted to figure out what is best for myself and then do it, it becomes obvious that God's command is necessary.
This is a story we all share. We want to change, we say that we have changed, but when it comes to proving it, we fall short. I remember my father telling me you get out what you put in. This refers to anything, including your life. If you feel your self with positive things, including the word of God and motivational information. If that is what you are putting inside of you, that is what comes out. If you are around a lot of negativity, of course that will be what comes out of you. Examine the influences you have in your life.
Who are your friends, what type of music do you listen to, what types of books do you read (if any), how often do you go to church? Some people want to change and find it difficult. Its easier to change when the things surrounding you are of great influences and examples.
Changing your life for the Lord is a good thing, nevertheless dont ruin your witness by saying you have changed when you really haven't. You proclaiming "change" should be true and genuine. I know I am not perfect, but I am trying. Until next time...
