I have a confession to make. Today, life's walls closed in on me and anxiety took over. The very words that I despise slipped off my tongue. "I quit! I give up!" Shelt stood shocked and appalled that I said that. I was once a true fighter and strong enough to take on a lot. It was just one of those days when the devil was tapping on my shoulder whispering, "Curse God and die". Have you ever experienced extreme disappointment and feel like prayer is not working. It just feels like God is ignoring your cries and you calls. I was there today. I despair overtook me and I pushed my laptop away and ignored my responsibility of writing this blog. I was so blinded by my situation that I did not practice anything that I been preaching or studying in my Bible. However, I have two words for you, "IM BACK!"
There are times in our faith walk that get weary. There are times when we can't see past our situation. For some reason some of us forget that we have a Savior that is there for us. The devil likes when we feel like God is not there. He sees it as a time to attack us mentally. It is at this time all the training and studying we been doing towards being in the army of the Lord comes to great use. Today, I let Satan make me feel like I was worthless and me walking the straight and narrow path was in vain. Never again.
As the day went on, and I engaged in my own little pity party, God spoke to me. Just as easy as I heard satan speaking to me, I heard God speaking to me as well. He told me to get up, get myself together, and fight. He told me not to let the situation get to me and just push on. And that is exactly what I did. I got up, fixed my self up, and begin living again. God knows how much we can bear. He knows I can handle my current situation. I was also reminded to study and continue praying.
Psalms 42:
5 Why are you down in the dumps, dear soul?
Why are you crying the blues?
Fix my eyes on God—
soon I'll be praising again.
He puts a smile on my face.
He's my God.
6 -8 When my soul is in the dumps, I rehearse
everything I know of you,
From Jordan depths to Hermon heights,
including Mount Mizar.
Chaos calls to chaos,
to the tune of whitewater rapids.
Your breaking surf, your thundering breakers
crash and crush me.
Then God promises to love me all day,
sing songs all through the night!
My life is God's prayer.
This scripture is telling us not to get down, and if we do, just look to good. Don't let your troubles blind you or distract you. Make sure you push on. I ran competitive track and field. My favorite event was the 400meters. Its a sprint around the track one time. When you start the race, your fine, just sprinting and going as fast as you can go. On the last 100meters of the race, you have to dig deep and push. At the end of the race, you are not as strong as you are in the beginning. Nevertheless, if you want to win or if you just wanna finish, you have to put all you have into running and go. We are all in a race, at times we grow weary and want to stop. You have to remember to keep going and finish your race strong. DO NOT QUIT! Until Next time...
