Bragging

Bragging is never cute or amusing. I find that I am drawn towards humble spirits rather than people who are loud and continually boasting about things they have done or what they are doing. In the industry I am in, boasting and bragging is encouraged. However, I find that the more I refrain from self proclaiming or praising my self, the more people want to be around me. People that praise themselves view them selves as gods, and I do not do that. I know there is one true living God. He is the only one that will get my praises.

Being that we know these people exist, how are we suppose to deal with them. The Bible gives us special instructions on how do deal with those who think they are soooo above us all.

Colossians 3:12-17

12 -14So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It's your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it.

15 -17Let the peace of Christ keep you in tune with each other, in step with each other. None of this going off and doing your own thing. And cultivate thankfulness. Let the Word of Christ—the Message—have the run of the house. Give it plenty of room in your lives. Instruct and direct one another using good common sense. And sing, sing your hearts out to God! Let every detail in your lives—words, actions, whatever—be done in the name of the Master, Jesus, thanking God the Father every step of the way.

So in other words, forgive them for what they have done or for what they are doing. We have to love them anyway. We have to understand that we have to be examples ourselves. We must not over react to the situation, rather just be easy and let the Lord deal with it all. I was raised in a humble home. I would not sit here and lie to you and say we were a poor family, far from actually. But my parents both came from humble beginings and taugh us that everyone does not "have it like this". Everything that happens to us/you need to be considered as a blessing and it is only right to give thanks and credit where it is due. Untill Next time....
