Well, first and foremost, happy new year to everyone. 2009 was a great year! Whether it was your year of rebuilding, learning lessons, prospering, lost, earning, whatever happened, use the experience to better your left. Just want to remind you that we are all Jesus Cousin (Christians Overcoming Ugly Sins). Do not ever think you are alone in your walk with Christ because there a millions of other imperfect people doing their best to do what thus says the Lord. I encourage you to tell someone about this blog and share what you learned here in your Sunday school, on your job, during family and/or friend discussions. This blog is for everyone. Lets make sure everyone knows about it!
I asked God to lead me to what He wanted me to read and He lead me to Lamentations. This book is written by the prophet Jeremiah. He starts off expressing his hurt for the lost of his city. Jerusalem was doing their own thing. Turned their back on God and His orders. For that, God stripped of everything that made them a great city.
Lamentations 1: 18-22
18"God has right on his side. I'm the one who did wrong. Listen everybody! Look at what I'm going through! My fair young women, my fine young men, all herded into exile!
19"I called to my friends; they betrayed me. My priests and my leaders only looked after themselves, trying but failing to save their own skins.
20"O God, look at the trouble I'm in! My stomach in knots, my heart wrecked by a life of rebellion. Massacres in the streets, starvation in the houses.
21"Oh, listen to my groans. No one listens, no one cares. When my enemies heard of the trouble you gave me, they cheered. Bring on Judgment Day! Let them get what I got!
22"Take a good look at their evil ways and give it to them! Give them what you gave me for my sins. Groaning in pain, body and soul, I've had all I can take."
Some people are starting this New Year feeling exactly like the city of Jerusalem. It seems as if nothing is going right. It even seems as if God has forsaken you. The time is now for you to recognized your faults and all the ugly sins that you have been committing. Nothing will begin to get better unless you change what you are doing now. At some point the pain in your life will get too much to bear and it becomes very easy to recognize just who is in charge or who should be in charge of your life. Do not live another year just doing your own thing. Allow God to come into your life a save your situation.
You may know someone who is crying out the same way Jerusalem was. Tell them things are not going to get better on their own. Its time to let God be the head of his/her life. This year, be a witness. Tell someone how good God is in your life. Many times people only want to say something about God to other Christians who already know how Great God is. Tell someone who does not know. You can be the reason why the cry out for help can stop. Until Next time...
