Our agenda! My agenda! Often times we have our "own" agenda that we are so focused on and wonder why things are not going the way that we want them to go. We then pray to the Lord and ask him to please help us with what we have going on. When that does not work, we get into this depressed mode and say "I am doing right and trying to live right, paying my tithes and offering, praying and going to church but still in the same position". We start to think that maybe the Lord wants us to keep struggling and wait on him. Not necessarily true! Did you ever stop and think that maybe "YOUR AGENDA" is not the right agenda? Did you ever stop and say "Maybe this is not what the Lord wants me to do?" People get so caught up in what they want to do that they leave out what the Lord wants them to do. They try to do their agenda and tack the Lord on to what they have going on. Well I just want to tell you that it NEVER works out that way. You can not do what you want to do and expect the Lord to bless it. Even if you are doing something legitimate, like running your own business. If it is not what the Lord wants you to do, no matter how much you pray and tithe and fast for it, it will NEVER work. When Jesus interrupts what you have going on, I suggest that you take the time to listen because it is already written down and HE already knows what is going to happen. If HE already knows what happens, then HIS "interruption" is part of the plan and needs to be taken heed to. So I leave you with this, stop worrying about your agenda and get on the Lord's page, it has a better ending!
Matthew Chapter 6: 30 - 34
30 -33"If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don't you think he'll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I'm trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God's giving. People who don't know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don't worry about missing out. You'll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. 34"Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don't get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.
