I remember growing up how I hated the fact that so many kids became attached to my parents. My parents were mentors to many children my age at the time and I hated sharing their attention and even more I hated when they would call my parents "ma" or "dad". Looking back on it, it was a pointless jealousy because no matter what, my parents always had time for me. They never made me feel any less important. And furthermore, they showed me that everyone needs love. I believe that some Christians today will not share the word of God or tell about God's goodness out of jealousy and spite.
We are held accountable for spreading the word of God. Don't think by helping someone else advance or telling someone about God's love you are going to be loved any less. You aren't. God loves all His children and won't love you any less because another soul is added to the kingdom.
I recall a time in college when I witness a girl purposely leave her roommate whom wanted to attend church with her. The reason the young lady left her roommate was because she felt that her roommate would steal attention from her. This always made me scratch my head like huh? She is worried about all the wrong things. Its really time to stop worrying about I I I and put God first. We are not in the position to choose who we will and wont tell about God. We aren't judges but we will be judge. So the next time you are on you blessing blocking mode, switch gears and DO BETTER
Titus 2
1 -6Your job is to speak out on the things that make for solid doctrine. Guide older men into lives of temperance, dignity, and wisdom, into healthy faith, love, and endurance. Guide older women into lives of reverence so they end up as neither gossips nor drunks, but models of goodness. By looking at them, the younger women will know how to love their husbands and children, be virtuous and pure, keep a good house, be good wives. We don't want anyone looking down on God's Message because of their behavior. Also, guide the young men to live disciplined lives.
7 -8But mostly, show them all this by doing it yourself, incorruptible in your teaching, your words solid and sane. Then anyone who is dead set against us, when he finds nothing weird or misguided, might eventually come around.
