I am sure you have been in a situation where someone opens up to you and tells you about their problems and the burdens on their heart. You are that listening ear, you are that shoulder to cry one, and in the end, you always say "I will pray for you". Well, thats all good and dandy, and your prayers are appreciated, however have you ever tried being the answer to their prayer. I know many people who always say, "I will pray you find a car to drive," and have a vehicle just sitting in their drive way working. I have heard people pray for others to find a better living arrangement, and they have two empty bedrooms in their own home. Sometimes, we wanna pray and have faith but we don't want to be the answer.
James 2:17-18: Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works; shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
Today's scripture talks about faith without works is dead. You ever think of what kind of works can be accomplished if you just have faith. So many times we hear people talking about issues and complaining about situations. They want God to come in and change things but they aren't willing to be an open vessel for the change. Are you one of those people? Next time someone ask for your prayers, and you know you can help and allow God to use you as a blessing to someone else, allow him to do so. I will be honest, I am not the richest person in the world but when I have change to spare, I do.
For example, there was a guy stranded at the gas station. It was obvious he had no money and he was calling around for someone to help him. I heard him on the phone getting rejected one call after another. He looked at me with this ashamed look, then looked away. Right then I asked God to help that man get home. I really didn't want to honestly, but God told me to put five dollars in his tank, so I did. He was so thankful, more shocked than anything that I did it. The same person he didn't want to ask came through for him. All I said was God Bless you and make sure you help someone else out, then I drove away. God has continued to bless me since then, but the point of the story was to show how important it is to let God use you. Don't just pray for someone's situation, allow God use you to change someone's life. Until next time....
