When I was in high school and college, I had a couple run-ins with young ladies that ended in an undesirable manner. Hind sight, knowing what I know now, I could have handled it a little better than I did then. I was shock to read in my studies how accurate the Bible was about how to handle situations and what could possible happen if you do not handle them in a proper manner.
If you are a talk show watcher, then you would know how people like to bring others on national television and confront them or reveal secrets. The Bible encourages us to do that in private. Public quarrels are NOT HOT. Someone will always get embarrassed and in most cases it is the person who started it. Secrets are revealed when discussing issues and if it is done publicly, then everyone will know your business.
Proverbs 25:8-10
8 Don't jump to conclusions—there may be
a perfectly good explanation for what you just saw.
9 -10 In the heat of an argument,
don't betray confidences; Word is sure to get around,
and no one will trust you.
11 -12 The right word at the right time
is like a custom-made piece of jewelry, And a wise friend's timely reprimand
is like a gold ring slipped on your finger.
So clearly the Word of God is telling us to be slow to anger. Don't jump to conclusions. Rather think first. A wise man thinks things out. As a child, I had a major temper problem, however, as an adult that should not be my same story. Nor should it be the story of any other adult. When it comes to conflict, don't fight it out nor have verbal confrontations in public. Like all other sins, it ruins your witness. Calm your nerves and be wise when handling situations. Until next time...
