I kinda chuckle to myself when I hear people complaining about their situation as if they did not put them selves there. When everything is going good, then its "I did this" and "I did that". Then things go wrong, the cry goes out "Lord why me?" The real question is "why not you". What have you done to be awarded God's graces and mercy. Did you tithe? Maybe you went to feed the hungry at some point this week? Did you study the word? Are walking in the will of God at all? If you can't say yes to any of those questions then you can answer your own question to "Lord why me".
So often we forget to uphold our end of the deal. God's main request is for us to be obedient to his commandments. I'm not going to sit here and pretend that being obedient to God is so easy. It takes effort for me. However, in the end, I'm showing God that I want to walk in the light. I want to follow Him. And because of this, I will be blessed for it. I encourage you to step your efforts up in walking in the will of God. Life could be so much easier. Put your self in the Lord's shoes. Very rarely to you want to help someone who doesn't want to help them selves. Why is this? Firstly, all that help will be in vain. Secondly, they will take all the credit for what you have done for them. Thirdly, they will most likely go back to doing whatever you was trying to help them with in the first place. God feels the same way.
If you follow my blog, back in August, I had that same attitude, "Lord why me". I had to learn that God had to take me through some things to appreciate Him more. I needed to go through to become stronger in my faith and be more prepared for what He has in store for me. Some may say "I am doing what God ask of me and I am still going through". No one is exempt from hard times. It is a test so that you will have a testimony and be able to win more souls to Christ when you tell what you have been through.
Matthew 8:22 (Whole Chapter)
Jesus refused. "First things first. Your business is life, not death. Follow me. Pursue life."
Next time you cry out "Lord why me", examine your life and your walk. Make sure you are following the Lord and doing everything that He would have you to do. If you are, remain faithful and diligent in the Lord. He will bless your life. Until next time...
