No Self Promotion

For some odd reason, there are people in our society who feel that they deserve top spot and deserve to be mention as best. We often find people doing a lot of self proclaiming "I'm the king" "I'm the best", when no one is agreeing with them. One thing that I was always taught was to not self proclaim, let God promote me to the position He would have me in. Because just like how we see people self proclaiming and positioning themselves to be head, we see how quickly they are removed or embarrassed because that is not who everyone else sees them as.

I am currently reading 1Kings. The book starts out telling how a man named Adonijah automatically put his self as king because David was old and on his deathbed. In those times, that was out of order and the rightful person to become king was Solomon. Adonijah did a bunch of self proclaiming, he even got some people involved, not to mention he threw a coronation for his self. (Who does that?) Nevertheless, word got back to David and he quickly reacted. He did what he had to do to make sure Solomon, the rightful successor became king. He did.

Adonijah was not only embarrassed, but scared for his life. Solomon told him he wouldn't kill him, yet a powerful lesson was learned. Firstly, you cannot force your way into a position that is not meant for you. Secondly, you should not promote your self, let others do it, because the demotion is that much more embarrassing.

Read 1Kings 1

Let God promote you, don't do it your self. Its okay to believe you are the best, but its better for others to say it. Until Next Time

Sometimes it feels like somebody's watching Me!

As a christian man, I have to understand that I am always being watched. I tell people to do this and to do that because it is right. I tell people that they have to have faith before God can reveal to you what HE can really do. I am not perfect by any stretch of the imagination but I have to remember that somebody is always watching me. No matter how much I want to do this or do that I have to remember what I "preached" and walk the talk. I recently was put in the position to forgive someone and as bad as I was hurting, I thought to myself what would Jesus do. I talk all the time about not being able to get into heaven with a grudge or Jesus forgave those who killed him. When it was my turn to forgive, I had no choice but to do the Lord's will or become a hypocrite and I was not going out like that. I sucked up my hurt feelings and forgave that person and I do not feel the pain that I was feeling anymore. You must remember that if you are going to talk the talk, then you better be ready to walk the walk because you never know who is watching you. That person that is watching you could be that person on the edge of his belief not know what direction to go in and you could be that deciding factor. If it feels like somebody's watching you, then guess what, they probably are.

1 Corinthians 8: 10-13

10For instance, say you flaunt your freedom by going to a banquet thrown in honor of idols, where the main course is meat sacrificed to idols. Isn't there great danger if someone still struggling over this issue, someone who looks up to you as knowledgeable and mature, sees you go into that banquet? The danger is that he will become terribly confused—maybe even to the point of getting mixed up himself in what his conscience tells him is wrong.

11 -13Christ gave up his life for that person. Wouldn't you at least be willing to give up going to dinner for him—because, as you say, it doesn't really make any difference? But it does make a difference if you hurt your friend terribly, risking his eternal ruin! When you hurt your friend, you hurt Christ. A free meal here and there isn't worth it at the cost of even one of these "weak ones." So, never go to these idol-tainted meals if there's any chance it will trip up one of your brothers or sisters.

You can't get into heaven with a Grudge!

No one is perfect by any stretch of the imagination, and you are not perfect by far. People will hurt you, deceive you, break your heart and let you down all the time. This may make you a bitter person at times and you may not want to forgive the individual because you want to stay angry or you do not understand why this happened to you. One thing I remember someone saying is that "You can't get into heaven with a grudge!" Holding grudges against people will only waste valuable time in your life. When you are angry with someone, you will notice that you think about them all the time and if your smart you will realize that you have wasted valuable time thinking about them and not being constructive. You must learn how to forgive. No matter what that person did to you or said to you, you MUST FORGIVE! Vengeance is mine says the Lord, not yours. You need to forgive that person and move on. Do not let their actions influence the way you live your life. Jesus was killed and HE still died for the people responsible, so what your going through or whatever happened to you is not as nearly as bad as what happened to Jesus. Pray to God and have a open heart to forgive and it will make you a better person.

Mark 11:25

If you have anything against someone, forgive—only then will your heavenly Father be inclined to also wipe your slate clean of sins.

It's All About Me

I know that if God has given a commandment, then I have no choice but to obey, if I expect to stay in His will. But what happens when I don't?For this writing, I don't want to look at the personal consequences of my actions; I want to notice the affects on other people.

The focus of my new book deals with the effects of our actions on other people. If we know we are to do something, why don't we do it? Commonly, we feel uncomfortable. We feel out of place. We feel like we are inadequate. (Notice the "we". Or let's just replace "we" with "I".) Many times we act without thinking about the consequences of our actions--on other people. We have become so selfish that we'd rather not bother with looking at our neighbor because we refuse to get out of the mirror.

So, what happens when our selfishness reigns over our ministry for other people? What happens when we refuse to move beyond "me" to focus on "how will this affect her or him or them?"? What needs to happen in order for a shift to occur?

The subject of sin is one thing. The issue of the personal consequences of our sin is one thing. But the thought of our actions affecting other people--WHOA!!! In order for us to be affective in anything, we have to move beyond "me"; that is the only way we can be as influential as we ought.

There's more to come on this subject, but I think I'll leave it like this for you to chew on...
For scripture references around this subject, head to I Chronicles 21, Joshua 7, and the book of Jonah.

Who do you Love

I believe that God allowed our country to go into a financial crisis because too many people were starting to love money more than God. Too many people begin to forget the person who bought them wealth in the first place. People were starting to trust and have faith in their banks and bank accounts more than trusting God. If you are familiar with the ten commandments, then you would know that we serve a jealous God and at no point will He stand for you loving something more than you love him.

Matt 6:24
24"You can't worship two gods at once. Loving one god, you'll end up hating the other. Adoration of one feeds contempt for the other. You can't worship God and Money both.

People starting losing their homes, cars, and prized possessions. God put people in situations where only He could deliver them out of. As time progressed, we being to church membership increase, and more acts of kindness. Sometimes it takes being torn down to be built back up correctly. For some people its not money that they put before God, it could be a girlfriend. Maybe it could be a job. With the economy change, we seen jobs disappear as well.
Who do you love? Who or what has your heart. Evaluate your life if your answer is not God. He loves you and wants to bless you but can't if you are not putting him first. Until Next time...

False Prophets

You must be careful nowadays because there are many false prophets out there that will try to deceive you. Many people think that what they speak is the truth, but the only way to know if they are false or not is if you have a personal relationship with God and study his word. Some pastors in church look like men of God on the outside, but on the inside are filled with an evil spirit. They rob and steal from the church and teach the church members false teachings. You must be aware that there are false prophets out there and you can not be deceived by them because they will only lead you to hell. Pray to the Lord that HE will reveal the truth to you and open your eyes to distinguish between real and false prophets. The devil is very busy and he will do anything to bring you down with him. Do not be fooled by his tricks. Study the word, pray to God and HE will protect you.

Matthew 24:4-5&11:

And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many......And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

Am I Really "Souled Out"?

Revelation 3: 15-16 (The MESSAGE) "I know you inside and out, and find little to my liking. You're not cold, you're not hot--far better to be either cold or hot. You're stale. You're stagnant. You make me want to vomit."

I'll cut to the quick. A few days ago I was with a few people at a party I was not supposed to be with--which I knew beforehand. I got caught up in some "shiggidy" (in the words of "Huggy Lowdown" on The Tom Joiner Morning Show) that I really did not want to get involved with. I ended up going somewhere I had no business, putting me in an awkward predicament on so many levels. And while all this was going on "Souled Out", by Hezekiah Walker, played repeatedly through my head--LITERALLY!! It wasn't just playing; I felt my spirit asking me a question at the end of each verse. The song goes (if you aren't familiar with it): "I am souled out/ My mind is made up", then it continues "My heart is fixed/ My mind's made up/ No room, No vacancies, I'm all filled up/ His spirit lives in me/ That's the reason I'm souled out". Yet, throughout the time I was out I felt the Holy Spirit say [in cooperation with the song] "I am souled out" Are you really? "My mind is made up" Really? Now, it's not that I was out getting drunk, because I was not. I did not have sex with anyone. I was just compromising my witness by trying to fit where I knew I could not possibly fit. It was like trying to fit a circle-shaped peg into a triangle-shaped hole--it does not work!

I think my message is: get off the fence. Today, many of us are trying to play both sides of the field, grabbing the good from both sides, when that it not spiritually possible. I'm saved. I'm sanctified. I'm active in ministry. But--I messed up. I know I'm "souled out"; but I surely did not show it well this past weekend, but thank God for His grace, mercy, and forgiveness....

Jehovah Jireh - God the Provider

Sometimes it seems as if there is no hope and it feels like you are all alone in your battle. The Lord will stop everything that you have going on in your life especially if HE is not in the picture. The Lord wants you to have to depend on HIM fully so HE can show you exactly what HE is capable of. I know first hand how hard this is yet simple at the same time. I know that the Lord can take care of ALL my needs and I know HE wants to, but the needs that I THINK are too big makes me worried when I know I have nothing to worry about. The Lord has came through for me too many times for me to worry about anything. I know that HE is the ALMIGHTY GOD and that HE WILL bring me out of any situation as long as I believe HE will with all my mind, heart, body and soul. If you are having any problems in your life, look at yourself and ask yourself if you are doubting God. If you are, you have to let go of your fear and doubt and believe that the Lord will take your burden off you and put it on HIMSELF and make everything right. God wants to see HIS children happy and stress-free so we can devout all our attention and praise to HIM. It is us that make our lives harder when we decided that we want to do what we want to do and leave the Lord out of it. When you include the Lord in everything that you have going on, I GUARANTEE that your life will go A LOT smoother!

James 1: 2-8

2 -4Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don't try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.

5 -8If you don't know what you're doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You'll get his help, and won't be condescended to when you ask for it. Ask boldly, believingly, without a second thought. People who "worry their prayers" are like wind-whipped waves. Don't think you're going to get anything from the Master that way, adrift at sea, keeping all your options open.

Blindfold

One thing I found is when it comes to following God, it takes having some faith. It takes fully submitting in Him. It takes believing that He won't lead you wrong. Its almost as if He says "here, put this blind fold on and I will tell you where to go". I'm sure I am not the only person that has some difficulty doing that. Since the year started however, I prayed that I could get to that point where I know I am trusting solely on God and not doing my own thing. Because of my prayers, I found that God has put me in situations that required a far greater strength than my own. It was something only the Lord could handle.
Going through those experiences only made me see how GREAT God is. He is wonderful, trustworthy, and I will praise his name forever. I do not know of one man on this Earth who is able to do the things God can do. If you are depending on a man to pay your bills, stop right now. If you are depending on a woman to show you some type of comfort, stop right now.
It is time for you to accept the blindfold and say yes God I will follow you. I will wait until I hear your voice, then I will move. Like I said, its not easy, but once God is fully in control of your life....you know life will be okay.

James 4

Get Serious

1 -2Where do you think all these appalling wars and quarrels come from? Do you think they just happen? Think again. They come about because you want your own way, and fight for it deep inside yourselves. You lust for what you don't have and are willing to kill to get it. You want what isn't yours and will risk violence to get your hands on it.

2 -3You wouldn't think of just asking God for it, would you? And why not? Because you know you'd be asking for what you have no right to. You're spoiled children, each wanting your own way.

4 -6You're cheating on God. If all you want is your own way, flirting with the world every chance you get, you end up enemies of God and his way. And do you suppose God doesn't care? The proverb has it that "he's a fiercely jealous lover." And what he gives in love is far better than anything else you'll find. It's common knowledge that "God goes against the willful proud; God gives grace to the willing humble."

7 -10So let God work his will in you. Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper. Say a quiet yes to God and he'll be there in no time. Quit dabbling in sin. Purify your inner life. Quit playing the field. Hit bottom, and cry your eyes out. The fun and games are over. Get serious, really serious. Get down on your knees before the Master; it's the only way you'll get on your feet.

11 -12Don't bad-mouth each other, friends. It's God's Word, his Message, his Royal Rule, that takes a beating in that kind of talk. You're supposed to be honoring the Message, not writing graffiti all over it. God is in charge of deciding human destiny. Who do you think you are to meddle in the destiny of others?

Until Next Time...

Behind the Scenes

Sometimes in your life you may feel that God is not there for you. You pray and pray, fast and read the bible daily. You try to do everything that the bible tells you to do and still nothing happens. Do not get discouraged! When it seems as though God is not doing anything for you right now, just know that HE is preparing things for you behind the scenes. HE knows that you can handle whatever it is that you are going through, you just have to know that you can get through. When the time is right, and God's timing is always right, HE will bless you and move in your life like never before. God works behind the scenes to preparing you for what HE has for you in the future. A lot of people worry about "the future" and get all stressed out, when their interpretation of the future may never come to pass. They are worrying about things that probably will not happen. That is the devil trying to keep you stressed and trying to make you curse God when you feel that nothing is going right. Keep the faith and do not worry about tomorrow because tomorrow has its own problems, worry about today only. When you think that God is not listening to you or your prayers, just know that HE is and HE is working behind the scenes preparing you for what HE has for your life. Just hold on!

Matthew 6: 30-33

30 -33"If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don't you think he'll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I'm trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God's giving. People who don't know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don't worry about missing out. You'll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.

Traveling Buddy

In my life, I have done a lot of traveling. I seen small towns, I have seen big cities. With every small town or big city I have been able to see many sights and learn many lessons as well as experience many different cultures. One thing I can say is when I went to these places, I've always had a traveling buddy. God always had someone there to complete the journey with me so I wouldn't be alone. I've had my mother next to me, my father, teammates, my boyfriend, and even a nice neighbor on the plan. No matter what, God always put someone with me so I would not have to make the journey alone. He has done that on my physical trips but he has also done that when I take my spiritual trips.
What is a spiritual trip? It is a time in your life when you have to take a spiritual journey in your faith. When you have to leave your comfort zone and experience a different type of worship or perhaps experience the different people in your your faith. No matter what, God sends us a travelling buddy to accompany us along the way.
I have been reading Ruth. The first chapter was rather interesting. I encourage you to read it for yourself, but to summarize... Ruth married a woman's son named Naomi. After some time Ruth's husband died and so did Naomi's. Naomi began to prepare to go to her home town due to the lost of her son and her husband, but Ruth insisted on coming with her. Naomi was telling Ruth to go home to her own home land, but Ruth insisted on staying and comforting Naomi. Nevertheless, Naomi still pleaded with Ruth to leave, but Ruth wouldn't leave her side.

Ruth 1
16 -17 But Ruth said, "Don't force me to leave you; don't make me go home. Where you go, I go; and where you live, I'll live. Your people are my people, your God is my god; where you die, I'll die, and that's where I'll be buried, so help me God—not even death itself is going to come between us!"

Look back over your life. Who has God put in your life to be that traveling buddy? Who has played the role as that shoulder to lean on or that comforter. God always gives us someone to support us during our journey. Some may say "Well I experienced this alone...". Upon Jesus departure from this Earth, he left us with the holy spirit to be with us always. To be that guide we need in our life. The holy spirit says to us the same thing Ruth said to Naomi above. "Where you go, I go. Where you live, I live."

I think God for my traveling buddies, physically and spiritually. Just remember, when you go on your journeys whether it be a life mission or trip to New York, God won't send you there alone.

The SON is Still Shining

Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. (NIV)

It is amazing how I can get up in the mornings to the same sunshine that my friends in Washington, D.C. wake up to. It is rather interesting how I can get on a plane in the sunny city of Charlotte, and land miles away, in a different country even, and the same sun is there to greet me. What I also find thought-provoking is how even on a cloudy day, the sun is still shining.

Even though I have not been on Earth too long, I have experienced a few days where crap ruled, hell prevailed, and defeat overcame victory. Even though I know who I am, and whose I am, I still have those days where I wonder where the heck "the Son" is. One day I am ascending from one level to the next, walking in the power I know I have, and the next, I am wallowing in despair, feeling abandoned by the one who said He would never "leave or forsake" me.

Maybe I am the only one who ever feels this way.

Yet, even when I am questioning whether I am being looked-out for; even when it seems as though the clouds of life are eclipsing my greatest hopes, I am constantly reminded that "the Son" is still there. What I found out is that even though it may be raining, storming, snowing, or hailing, the sun is still there; it never moved. We get bothered, worried, and angry because we cannot see or feel it. We are so jelly-backed sometimes that our foundation, what we stand on through life's ups and downs, becomes faulty. To a degree, we have become so dependent on things and people, any true faith is nonexistant.

The fact still remains that "the Son" is still shining. He is still reigning. He is still sovereign. So, whenever it seems as though He isn't there, just know that He never left. True faith trusts. True faith believes without any evidence needed. Having true faith will take you through cloudy, rainy days without you vacillating from one degree to another.

So, will you trust in the forecast of your life, with its possibilities of inclement weather? Or will you trust in the One who controls the forecast? Ultimately, it's your choice.

FAITH POINTS

This week has been a week that I can say God has shown me his power. The preacher on Sunday spoke about Faith Points. Faith Points are points that are gained when the Lord does something for you that strengthens your faith and it becomes a reference point for you. Whenever you need to refer back to a time when the Lord blessed you, you will refer back to your Faith Points. Well I had another Faith Point added to my life this past week. I had no gas and no money at the time and I had to go to training for my new job. I knew I could make it there and maybe back home but once I got back home, it was a wrap, I could not go anywhere else. I prayed all morning asking the Lord to take care of me and my girlfriend told me to have faith and believe. So I said "OK, I will put this into the hands of the Lord". I got in the car looked at the gas line and looked at my pockets and said "Lord, I am going to have Faith that you will take care of me because you always do." I pulled off and drove to work. When I got there the low fuel light was on and I was just like "Lord I am going to trust in you." I get into work and the manager comes in and hands me $50 for winning a contest from the day before. I went to the bathroom and gave the Lord praise and thanks. When you think that the Lord is not listening or HE does not care about you, I dare you to put ALL you trust and faith in HIM and I GUARANTEE that you will get another FAITH POINT added to your life!!!

2 Corinthians 1: 8-11

8 -11We don't want you in the dark, friends, about how hard it was when all this came down on us in Asia province. It was so bad we didn't think we were going to make it. We felt like we'd been sent to death row, that it was all over for us. As it turned out, it was the best thing that could have happened. Instead of trusting in our own strength or wits to get out of it, we were forced to trust God totally—not a bad idea since he's the God who raises the dead! And he did it, rescued us from certain doom. And he'll do it again, rescuing us as many times as we need rescuing. You and your prayers are part of the rescue operation—I don't want you in the dark about that either. I can see your faces even now, lifted in praise for God's deliverance of us, a rescue in which your prayers played such a crucial part.

Take the Advice

I was always taught to respect my elders. When you think elders, you think the people older than you. However, would you apply that to someone in the Christian faith. Would you respect an "elder" someone who has been a Christian longer than you yet physically younger than you. One thing that I find is that older people from time to time will not stop and listen to what I have to say. Honestly, even though I may not have been born before an "older" person, I was reborn before them. I have studied longer and harder. I have been living for Jesus longer. I have seniority in the kingdom.
God uses all kinds of people to get his message out. Whether it be a rich man or a poor man, a child or an adult. It is up to us to take heed with the lessons and messages He sends us and not make it about a physcial age or a certain income. If you have found your self only willing to listen to people who are older than you (physically), or perhaps higher ranking in the church and ignore others you may think "doesn't know what their talking about" now is the time to stop! You must realize that God is in control and he can use anyone. Bottom line, have the same respect across the board for all Christians trying to spread the word of God. Keep and open mind and open heart. Do not turn a deaf ear to a person just because they don't meet your standards. I once heard my aunt say, "I'm glad God don't use the same standards I use when accepting people, non of yall would be saved."

Jeremiah 1

Demolish, and Then Start Over

1 -4 The Message of Jeremiah son of Hilkiah of the family of priests who lived in Anathoth in the country of Benjamin. God's Message began to come to him during the thirteenth year that Josiah son of Amos reigned over Judah. It continued to come to him during the time Jehoiakim son of Josiah reigned over Judah. And it continued to come to him clear down to the fifth month of the eleventh year of the reign of Zedekiah son of Josiah over Judah, the year that Jerusalem was taken into exile. This is what God said:

5"Before I shaped you in the womb,
I knew all about you. Before you saw the light of day,
I had holy plans for you: A prophet to the nations—
that's what I had in mind for you."

6But I said, "Hold it, Master God! Look at me.
I don't know anything. I'm only a boy!"

7 -8God told me, "Don't say, 'I'm only a boy.'
I'll tell you where to go and you'll go there. I'll tell you what to say and you'll say it.
Don't be afraid of a soul. I'll be right there, looking after you."
God's Decree.

9 -10God reached out, touched my mouth, and said,
"Look! I've just put my words in your mouth—hand-delivered! See what I've done? I've given you a job to do
among nations and governments—a red-letter day! Your job is to pull up and tear down,
take apart and demolish, And then start over,
building and planting."

Everyone Is Not a Christian

Though it may be the hot thing to be, everyone is not really a Christian. Proclaiming and practicing are two different things. Some people think just because they believe there is a God that they are Christians. Some people believe that because their mother is a Christian then they are one too. Having a relationship with Christ is personal. Someone else close to you's relationship with the Lord is not considering your ticket into heaven.
We are taught to be around people like minded who can continue to be of encouragement to stay in the Lord's will and not sway. Please beware of these people who say one thing and do another. You may be hanging with a friend who is in bible study with you one day and in the club drunk the next. You may be around someone who says they're Christians but place their selves above God. Believe it or not, these people exisit and you have to stay clear of them.
The main way to be able to seek these people out is to make sure you have a strong relationship with the Lord. You must also be prayed up and study the word. It is the knowledge that will help you see that this person is not who you should be around. Watch out! Everyone is not a Christian.

Matthew 7
15 -20"Be wary of false preachers who smile a lot, dripping with practiced sincerity. Chances are they are out to rip you off some way or other. Don't be impressed with charisma; look for character. Who preachers are is the main thing, not what they say. A genuine leader will never exploit your emotions or your pocketbook. These diseased trees with their bad apples are going to be chopped down and burned.

21 -23"Knowing the correct password—saying 'Master, Master,' for instance— isn't going to get you anywhere with me. What is required is serious obedience—doing what my Father wills. I can see it now—at the Final Judgment thousands strutting up to me and saying, 'Master, we preached the Message, we bashed the demons, our God-sponsored projects had everyone talking.' And do you know what I am going to say? 'You missed the boat. All you did was use me to make yourselves important. You don't impress me one bit. You're out of here.'

Be Encouraged

There is nothing like encouragement. It's something we all need especially when things seem to be going all wrong and your trying to live right. As a C.O.U.Sin (Christian Overcoming Ugly Sin) I completely understand how someone saying "great job, continue to follow Jesus, your staying stead fast and you'll be blessed" could help you to keep going. It is important that we have each other's backs as Christians. It is our duty to be a good brother or sister to one another. This is a race of life and just like we would do anyone running a race, we must cheer each other on.
I been reading Thessalonians and it was two books encouraging the people there to be strong and not to give up. Paul was saying how he was proud of them and brag on them. He also told them that he admired the way they continued to follow God despite all the bad things happening to them. One thing I like about what Paul said was that he made it clear that when God sends you through things and you are apart of His kingdom, He is getting you ready for something bigger.
I say to you, if you are reading this, I can only assume that you are trying to live right. I can only assume that God means more to you than anything. I can only assume that you are trying to be a good and faithful servant. I say today to keep going. Don't stop because things get hard. Its called character building. Its getting you ready for something bigger. I encourage you to stay strong and continue serving the Lord with all your heart and lead not to your own understanding.

2 Thessalonians 1

3 -4You need to know, friends, that thanking God over and over for you is not only a pleasure; it's a must. We have to do it. Your faith is growing phenomenally; your love for each other is developing wonderfully. Why, it's only right that we give thanks. We're so proud of you; you're so steady and determined in your faith despite all the hard times that have come down on you. We tell everyone we meet in the churches all about you.

Donate to Jesus Cousin

We want to help so many people through our community outreach and our free publications. It takes a lot of money to help family after family. With your donation, we can touch so many lives. We thank you in advance for your contribution.

Trusting through it All

At what point in your faith do you realize that God is your provider? At what point do you stop and realize that worrying about the same things are pointless considering the many times you cried out and God heard you. I had to bring that to the attention of a friend of mine.
The economy effected all of us one way or another. Yet we see now that things are turning around for the better. Well things are looking up for my friend considering he now has two jobs. Along with that he runs his own company and volunteers regularly which is not just time consuming but it is also gas consuming. His constant worry is not having enough money to keep gasing up. I pointed out that every since he started doing the Lords will for his life everything including gas has been provided for him. Every time he sees the gas gauge nearing empty he goes into a panic as if he does not know the Lord will provide.
I advised him to check Gods track record in his life and tell me a time he has never had gas to get to where he needed to go. I ask you the same thing. When has good not kept you fed or kept you warm? You can't say He doesn't love you because you are alive right now. Stop worrying! It doesn't ease or fix any problem. It's just an emotion that results in stress which in turn can physically and mentally harm you.

Matthew 6:13
"So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Foot Work

Our new community project for the 1st Quarter will be "Foot Work" Our goal is to supply 50 pairs of new shoes for those searching or headed back to work. We want to supply comfortable working shoes and remind other C.O.U.sins to allow God to order their steps in His word. We need brand new or barely worn shoes to make this a success. Would you like to be involved? Click our volunteer button and let us know how you would like to get involved.

Evening Chats

We will be having evening chats every Wednesday and Thursday this month. Our chat room will be open for those who just want to come and chat and fellowship online with other Christians. Chat room will open at 7:00pm.
